WSCA recently elected/filled 2 open board positions. Please welcome:
Treasurer: Jerry Perez filled the role vacated by Dave Hamilton. Dave contributed to the WSCA board for close to 20 years and will be working with Jerry to insure a smooth transition. Thank you for all you have done Dave.
Vice President: Donna Anderson filled the role vacated by John “Doc” Headley. Thank you, Doc, for your contribution to the board.Both Donna and Jerry bring new perspective to the board and their spirit for growing the sport is well received.
This September there will be additional elections/re-elections for open positions on WSCA Board. The elections will take place during the annual board meeting this year at Lost Pair Ranch. Below is a description of the WSCA board, its purpose, and a description of the election process. We welcome your attendance and encourage you to consider participating.
WSCA is governed by a Board of elected officers. They consist of a President, 1st Vice President, 2nd Vice President, Treasurer, and Secretary. In general, the primary duties of the Board are to administer WSCA Board Member Elections, administer the Washington State Championship Shoot, and approve registered shoot dates for member clubs.
The Promotion and encouragement of organized, competitive Sporting Clays, NSCA 5-Stand and F.I.T.A.S.C. shooting among the residents of, and visitors to, the State of Washington. To increase among WSCA members the knowledge of the safe handling and proper care of firearms as well as improve the shotgun marksmanship through competition. To forward the development of those characteristics of honesty, fellowship, self-discipline, team play and self-reliance which are the essentials of good sportsmanship.
Election of Board Members:
Board Members will be elected at the annual meeting. The terms of office of each of the Board Member shall be 2 years. For 2018 the following board positions are expiring: President and Secretary. Nominations for eligible Board Member positions may be made in writing and presented to any sitting Board Member (See Members/Officers tab for email addresses) prior to the election. Nominees will be accepted up to 5 days prior to the election. Nominees must be contacted prior to their nomination and be willing to serve should they be elected. The highest single vote getter for each position will be elected to that office. Results of elections will be posted on the association Website.
